Move 107

…and we picked up the stones and played on.

Kaoru Iwamoto 9p, was playing a Honinbo title match game with Utaro Hashimoto at move 106 when the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima exploded.

Move 106 was played at the end of the 2nd day, Aug 5.  On the third day the players had just begun to play when the blast came.

The stones were swept off the board by the impact.

But after lunch, the players picked up the stones, reconstructed the game position, and played one. Move 107.

This game is displayed on the outside west wall of the Seattle Go Center.
