Move 106
Maybe calamity already struck... and the stones are swept off the board.
Reference photo I took before painting
Move 106 was the last move played on the board when the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima exploded. It was played at the end of the 2nd day (August 5, 1945) of a Honinbo title match game between Kaoru Iwamoto 9p and Utaro Hashimoto 7p about 5 miles from the impact site. On the third day (August 6, 1945) the players had just begun to play when the blast came.
The stones were swept off the board by the impact.
This game is displayed on the outside west wall of the Seattle Go Center.
I think Move 106 and Move 107 will be a diptych paintings because they give each other meaning.
